25 | On February 12, 2024, at 9:34 am., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Renita Rodriguez and Selina Siao, conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection for the purpose of a change of the areas that are off limits in the licensee’s home. Licensee has requested this change. LPA was greeted at the front door by Farhad Hassani, licensee spouse. Also present in the home was Licensee Maryam Zarei. LPAs were granted entry after showing badges and identifying themselves and disclosing the purpose of the visit. The census today is 2 infants at the upstairs day care playroom. The home was toured and inspected for compliance. Licensee is currently using the following areas for daycare: upstairs playroom, upstairs hallway bathroom and upstairs balcony. Licensee is requesting to move the daycare from the upstairs area to the first floor of the Licensee home. The 1st floor areas to be used are the family room, living room, bedroom (play and nap room) and bathroom. Off limit areas will now include the entire 2nd floor, kitchen, dining room, laundry room and garage. The children are provided a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment, furnishings, and equipment.
LPAs observed a swimming pool located in the back yard. The fence was measured and was found to be 5 feet 2 inches in some areas and other areas measured at exactly 5 feet in height. The openings of the fence are more than 4 inches in some areas, and this will need to be corrected. The dining room is off limits and will need to be made inaccessible.
LPAs tested the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors located on the 1st floor were found to be operable. There is a fire extinguisher size 2A10BC that meets regulations. Licensee stated there are no weapons or ammunition stored on the premises.
Fireplace located in the living room is inaccessible. Fireplace located in family room is inaccessible. Storage for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications are out of reach, in off limit areas, and inaccessible to children by latches and doorknob covers.
