25 | On February 27, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Renita Rodriguez and Selina Siao, conducted an unannounced Case Management follow up Inspection for the purpose of a change of the areas that are off limits in the licensee’s home and to ensure that the pool fence meets the requirement. The initial inspection was conducted by LPAs on 2/12/2024.
Licensee has requested this change. LPA was greeted at the front door by Maryam Zarei. LPAs were granted entry after showing badges and identifying themselves and disclosing the purpose of her visit. The census today is 3 infants and 1 preschool age child. The home was toured and inspected for compliance. Licensee is currently using the following areas for daycare: upstairs playroom, upstairs hallway bathroom and upstairs balcony. Licensee is requesting to move the daycare from the upstairs area to the first floor of the Licensee home. The 1st floor areas to be used are the family room, living room, bedroom (play and nap room) and bathroom. Off limit areas will now include the entire 2nd floor, kitchen, dining room, laundry room and garage. The children are provided a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment, furnishings, and equipment. Maryam provided proof of control of property. Licensee states that they have sufficient financial resources to sustain the license.
LPAs observed a swimming pool located in the back yard. The fence was measured and was found to be 5 feet 2 inches in some areas and other areas measured at exactly 5 feet in height. The openings of the fence are more than 4 inches in some areas, and licensee has added metal wired mesh to ensure the children's safety. Licensee has added safety mesh security gate make the dining room, kitchen and dining areas to be off limits to children. Licensee also added a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs to prevent children's access to the off limit upstairs areas. All corrections have been made and facility appears to be within compliance during today's inspection.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Maryam Zarei. Notice of Site Visit was posted, and it shall remain posted for up to 30 days.
