Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced case management inspection for an increase in capacity. LPA met with Licensee, Veronica Madrigal. There were 6 children present today. This visit is to verify that the licensee remains in substantial compliance with the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing large family childcare homes. Licensee has all appropriate forms posted. LPA confirmed with licensee that all adults residing/working in the home have criminal record/TB clearances. The home appears to be large enough to comfortably accommodate 14 children. Fire clearance was granted on 7/11/24.

Licensee will be using the following areas for day care: Living room, Dining room, Kitchen, Bathroom 1, and Large patio. All 2nd floor is Off Limits and has been gated and made inaccessible to children. There is a garage attached to the home that is also Off Limits. There are no wall heaters or fireplaces in the home. Licensee stated there is a pool in a different building of the complex and is fenced that requires a resident key to enter the pool area. Licensee states that there are no weapons or ammunition in the home and LPA did not observe any either. The fire extinguisher size (2A10BC) meets requirements and is fully charged and is located in the kitchen area. The smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector combo is located in the living room on the 1st floor and it is functional and meets department regulations.

Licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid is valid through June 2026. Licensee has a Mandated Reporter Training certificate that expires November 2024. All adults living or working in the home have been fingerprint cleared, associated, and immunization requirements have been met. Outdoor play may also take place at a nearby park with constant supervision.

No corrections are needed. An exit interview was conducted with Licensee, Veronica Madrigal.
A large license will be granted upon final file review.
