On August 15, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Leilani Curtis conducted an unannounced case management inspection in reference to the licensee’s request for a capacity increase. Upon arrival LPA met with Director Kimberly Hardison and proceeded to tour the facility. There were 11 children with 4 staff members present. Appropriate ratios were observed. Staff members have the required background clearances and are associated to the facility.

The facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 14 infants. The Licensee requests to increase capacity to 20 infants ages 0-24 months in rooms #1 and #3. The following classrooms were previously measured as follows:

Room #1 (infants up to 12 months): 236.48 sq. ft. of indoor space.
Room #3 (infants ages 12-24 months): 572.34 sq. ft. of indoor space.

The total infant indoor space (rooms #1 and #3) is 808.82 sq. ft. which will accommodate a total of 23 children. There are currently 8 cribs in the napping room which is located next to room #1. Cots are available for children over the age of 12 months or children who are able to climb out of a crib. Infant room #1 and Infant room #3 each contain a sink located next to a changing table.

During today’s inspection LPA measured the outdoor activity space. The infant playground is 609.59 sq. ft. which will accommodate 8 children. The director states that outdoor activity space was removed from the preschool playground and added to the infant playground. A fire clearance for a capacity of 20 children was granted on 8/9/22.

Prior to licensure, a playground waiver to allow a capacity of up to 20 children to use the outdoor playground area on a scheduled basis must be submitted and approved by Community Care Licensing. The licensee will also submit an updated playground waiver request and schedule for the associated preschool (facility 376105033) as the preschool playground was reduced in size to increase the infant playground.

An exit interview was conducted with Director Hardison and Appeal Rights (LIC 9058 1/16) were discussed. A copy of this report as well as a copy of the Appeal ights were given to the director at the conclusion of the inspection. The director’s signature on this form acknowledges receipt of these rights. LIC 9213 NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS. LPA observed the director post notice of site visit.
