13 | On December 31, 2024, at 8:35 AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sherlynn Banas conducted an unannounced inspection to deliver the findings in reference to the allegations that staff failed to provide adequate supervision which resulted in multiple injuries, staff did not provide a safe environment for daycare child, and staff did not notify parent of incident. LPA met with Jessica Hewitt. There were 24 children in care at the time of inspection. There were 88 children enrolled at the facility.
It was alleged that staff failed to provide adequate supervision which resulted in multiple injuries. During the investigation, LPA conducted interviews with staff, children and parents of enrolled children, there was always supervision. There were always 2-3 teachers at the playground.
It was also alleged that staff did not provide a safe environment for daycare children. Based on documentation, interviews with parents, staff and children and observation conducted during the inspection, the staff provided a safe environment where the ratio and environment was monitored. Staff were communicating with parents verbally. through a messaging app called Procare, and emails.
It was alleged that staff did not notify parent of incident. Based on documentation, interviews with staff, parents and children, reports through phone calls, email and incident/accident reports were provided whenever injuries happen.
Based upon observations, information gathered from documentation, interviews of parents, staff, and children, the information obtained is not sufficient to prove or disprove the allegation. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, therefore the above allegations is found to be Unsubstantiated.
Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Jessica Hewitt. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days.
