25 | On 08/15/2024 at 1:25pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Selina Siao conducted an announced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Preschool Operation Supervisors, Christine Kutzner and Kristie Spillane. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 68 preschool children ages 2 to 5 years old in classrooms 25, Preschool classroom and adding room 26. Facility operates Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm in Preschool classroom and room 25. Room 26 will be an inclusion classroom and it will operate Monday to Friday from 8am to 11:30am. Facility is currently closed for the summer and school will resume on 08/21/2024. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed facility representatives that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured new additional indoor space. Total indoor activity space measured to be 2386.30 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 68 children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available for children via a water pitcher in each classroom. The water is from the Sparkletts water dispenser that is located outside of the Pearl Office in the infant room #23. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 08/06/2024.
There is a toilet and a sink in all three preschool classrooms, there is another toilet and sink in the older infant room #24 and another toilet and sink that is located across from the infant outdoor playground. There are a total of 5 sinks and 5 toilets available for the preschool children. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 68 children.
