On 08/07/2023 at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Selina Siao conducted a case management inspection for the purpose of capacity increase and room change. LPA met with Kristie Spillane/Preschool Operations Supervisor and Site Director Huyen Pham. No children are in care as the Poway Unified School District is on summer break and the children will return to care on 08/14/2023.

The Infant Program is licensed to operates in the classrooms: room #23 with crib area (6 weeks to 1 year old) and the Preschool room (1-2 year old). Facility representative submitted an application to increase the capacity from 20 to 24 infants and has requested to add classroom #24 in place of the Preschool classroom.

Classroom #24 measures to be 894.47 square feet with 1 toilet and 1 sink available for potty training infants. Each room has a changing table located next to the sink. Classroom #23 was previously measures to be 291.57 square feet. The new total indoor activity space is 1186.04 square feet which is sufficient to care for up to 33 children.

There are two outdoor areas for the infants one is located at the black top, and it was previously measures to be 3465.59 square feet and the other outdoor enclosed area is located at the TK playground turf area and it was previously measures to be 300 square feet. The total Outdoor areas is 3665.59 square feet and the areas have more than sufficient space for the current requested capacity of 24 infants. There is an approved outdoor waiver for the 2 year old children to share the infant playground.

Fire clearance was granted on 07/26/2023 for the requested capacity of 24. A capacity increase for 24 children is granted effective today.
