25 | On 9/23/22 at 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keturah Lane conducted an unannounced case management visit at Licensee’s request. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director Diane Martine and toured the facility. The reason for the visit is facility wishes to make a room change for the toddler component attached to the preschool license. Census for today’s inspection was 63 preschool-age children with 7 staff members. Director stated that they currently do not have any children under 24 months enrolled.
Previously, the toddler component was licensed in the Owls classroom because the Hedgehog classroom did not have an outdoor exit required by the Fire Marshall. Since that time, the facility has installed a door to allow direct access to the outside in the Hedgehog room. A request was received on 6/7/22 and updated on 7/25/22 to change the toddlers from the Owls room to the Hedgehog room. Total capacity of facility will remain the same. Facility is requesting 8 toddlers in the Hedgehog room and 162 preschool children in the other licensed rooms. Fire clearance was granted for this on 8/15/22.
During the inspection, LPA Lane measured the Hedgehog room which measures a total of 269.55 square feet which will accommodate no more than 7 toddlers. LPA inspected Hedgehog room and the new door installed and found no immediate hazards. LPA advised with Director to submit an updated LIC200A for 7 toddlers and 163 preschoolers. LPA obtained the updated LIC200A at the visit.
No deficiencies were cited at this inspection.
Effective upon final file review, LPA may grant facility to move toddlers from Owls room to the Hedgehog room. An updated license will be mailed to the facility upon final approval. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with facility representative Director Diane Martine. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. |
