On 08/09/2022 at 10:00am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Selina Siao and Keturah Lane, conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. LPAs met with Robin Brust/Site Director. The School-Age Program will operate in the following classrooms: 45B, auditorium multi-purpose room, music room and activity room located next to the auditorium. The children will be eating at the lunch arbor area located outside of auditorium. First Aid Kit and medication is kept in the music room/main office area. Isolation area is located the music room or auditorium. Fire clearance for 40 children was granted on 05/26/2022.

All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the school age children was inspected. This school age program is exempt from square footage requirements per Health and Safety code 1596.806.

· Outdoor areas will be the blue play structure and red play structure and the black top area. The play structure are age appropriate for children ages 5-12 years old.

Age-appropriate supplies and equipment were observed available in all indoor and outdoor activity space. There are boys and girls restroom next to the auditorium and in classroom 45B area and there are sufficient toilets and sink available for the children. There is a separate staff restroom for ill children. There is a refrigerator and snack storage cabinet located in the music room. Cleaning supplies and other toxics are inaccessible to children through latches, locks and/or placed on high surfaces. Drinking water is readily accessible via bottle water and there are filtered drinking water throughout the campus.

This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPAs and Directpr discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov.

The following handouts were provided and reviewed with Director Robin Brust today: LIC 311A and unusual incident report. Director was reminded to keep anything that reads, “Keep Out of Reach of Children” inaccessible to children.

Director states she understands that all staff must have a criminal record clearance and be associated to the facility prior to having a presence in the Center. Child Care Providers can now sign up for Quarterly Updates and PINS through the DSS website at www.ccld.ca.gov.

Prior to licensure, the following is needed:
- Purchase a carbon monoxide detector and submit a video to LPA.

Director stated that she would like to increase the capacity to 60 children and she will submit the application to the department. An updated fire clearance will be submitted upon received of the application.

Exit interview was conducted. Once all documents are received and a final file review is conducted, a license for 60 children will be granted.
