25 | On 09/26/23 at 8:36 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gerald Poindexter and Nancy Diaz conducted an unannounced case management inspection. Purpose of this visit is to review/measure a proposed temporary play area for Room 810, as identified in a formal waiver request by the facility. During the inspection, the LPAs were joined by Josephine Condra, Project Resource Teacher, at the request of Principal Victoria Peterson. There were 23 pre-school children, two teachers and four para-educators present during time of visit.
LPAs measured the proposed temporary play area, which is located immediately beyond Room 810. The principal stated the area is designated for preschoolers’ outdoor play. This area was typically set up for ECE and UTK classes to use. Area measured at approximately 3,266 sq. ft., which is sufficient for 43 children at one time. Principal Peterson has requested that the preschoolers share the playground on a scheduled basis, and has identified:
· A schedule for the pre-school classes that will prevent co-mingling with early education and UTK classes.
· Policies and procedures for staff to escort and supervise students during scheduled times.
· Maintenance of a ratio of 1 to 8
No deficiencies observed in the areas inspected during today's inspection.
LIC 9213 NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FORM IS REQUIRED TO BE POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
Exit interview was conducted with Josephine Condra, Project Resource Teacher. LPA reviewed this report with Ms. Condra prior to obtaining her signature. LPA observed posting of the notice of site visit.
