25 | On 10/27/2022 at 9:05am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Clenista conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Facility Representative, Alexander Weber and Kailynn Peralta. LPA took a tour of the facility per facility sketch. There were no children present. This facility is located on a Elementary School Site (Hickman Elementary). This school-age program (children ages 5-12 years old) will operate in Room "B1," located farthest north of the school campus. Fire clearance was granted on 09/14/2022. First Aid Kit is located on top of the classroom's refrigerator, along with any medications that the facility might have. Both are kept inaccessible from children.
Per H&S Code 1596.806, facility is exempt from square footage, toilet, isolation space, outdoor activity space and fencing requirements. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the school age children were inspected. Room B1 was observed to have age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Room has hooks for children's belongings. The bathrooms that the children will utilize is in the "40's" building, which provide privacy. There is a separate bathroom for staff located in the same building as the children's bathrooms, that will be utilized for ill children. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector located in room B1 left of the sink. Snack menu is posted, as well as all other required documents. Facility's sign-in and sign- out is located near the north gate, closest to room B1. LPA observed snacks in the classroom located in a cupboard. Food are up to date and food preparation area (located in the classroom) was observed free of rodents and/or vermin.
The outdoor playground area was inspected. Area has canopy used for shade and rubber matting under permanent play structure. Play structure that Mr. Weber stated the children will use, was observed to be age appropriate (5-12 years old). Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom via refillable water jugs and refillable water bottles that the facility will require the parents/guardians to bring. Mr. Weber and Ms. Peralta is reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. |
