25 | On 03/16/23 at 9am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Samantha Clenista and Adrian Mangina conducted an announced Change of Ownership Pre-Licensing inspection. Upon arrival, LPA’s met with Applicant/Center Director, Yulia Zaets. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children were inspected today. There was a total of 31 children present with 6 staff members. Applicant stated that the areas utilized for the preschool children (ages 2-5 years old) are in three separate buildings. The address to these buildings is 1752 and 1762 Hornblend St. The indoor activity space includes the following in the 3 buildings: “Big Nest” Building (in Room 1, 2 and 3), “Robins” Building (in Room 1 and the multipurpose room) and the “Canaries” Building (in Room 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5). The fire clearance was granted on 02/22/2023. Medications are stored in the director’s office or classroom depending on the medication.
LPA’s continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. The following measurements were taken:
· Robins building = 891.52 sq. ft.
· Big Nest building= 843 sq. ft.
· Canaries building= 970.85 sq. ft.
· Outdoor activity space which includes; preschool yard #1, preschool yard #2, picnic area, garden and preschool courtyard = 4,522.47 sq. ft.
The total indoor activity space measured at approximately 2,705.37 sq. ft. which will accommodate a total of 77 children. LPA observed the indoor play space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. There is a total of 8 sinks, 5 toilets and 1 urinal available for the children. Children are to be escorted and supervised by staff to and from the bathroom and under direct visual observation. |
