32 | The facility currently has a separately fenced in playground, however, is shared with the private kindergarteners that are on site. A playground waiver to share the playground at different times from the kindergarteners in the AM and PM shall be submitted and approved prior to licensure. LPAs informed Director that children must be escorted to and from the playground. There is a main playground and a patio area between all classrooms that are used to eat snacks and lunches. The total outdoor activity areas measured at approximately 20,020.96 sq. ft., sufficient for the requested capacity. Areas were observed to be fully fenced in per regulation. Playground area had trees and canopies used for shade and had age-appropriate toys and play equipment available for the children served. LPAs observed rubber turf under the play structure, sufficient to sustain a fall. The patio/lunch table area consisted of various lunch tables fit for the children enrolled.
Drinking water is readily accessible inside and outside the classroom via Culligan Water jugs and refillable water bottles (required for the parents/guardians to bring). Director was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
LPAs reviewed with Director the LIC 311A, Records to Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
