25 | On 1/16/2025 at 9:35am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Selina Siao conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for a new single license 376105162 as the facility has requested to add an infant and toddler component to the facility and removing the preschool component with facility number 376600747. Upon arrival, LPA met with facility representatives Area Manager, Lisa Grygera and Site supervisor, Theresa Uyeda. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 6 infants ages 0 to 24 months in classroom #2 and 16 toddlers ages 18 to 36 months in rooms #1 and #3. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed facility representative that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Site Supervisor, Theresa Uyeda stated that they will be in the individual’s child’s classroom. A fully equipped first aid kit is located in the kitchen area next to the refrigerator and each classroom also has a first aid kit. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site located in each classroom and the kitchen. All required licensing documents were observed posted in the lobby area by the entrance. Children will be signed in and out in each classroom.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. Total infant indoor activity space room #2 measured to be 321.19 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 6 infants. The total toddler indoor activity spaces rooms #1 and #3 measured to be 1047.12 square feet, which is also sufficient for the requested capacity of 16 toddlers. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, cribs, napping cots for infants who can climb out of a crib, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Toys are safe with no sharp edges, splinters, or points, nor made of small parts that can present a choking hazard. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via a water dispenser and the infants and toddler will be using disposable cups and or bottles that the facility provides to drink water and milk. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. Facility representative stated that there are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 12/10/2024. |
