32 | LPAs observed a total of 9 sinks, 5 toilets and 1 urinal available for the preschool children’s use. There are 2 sinks and 2 toilets available for the toddler component. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill is the staff's restroom.
Facility provides AM snacks to the children and LPA advised the Director that the facility shall offer an AM and PM snacks to the children as it is a full day program. The kitchen area has a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave. The food storage areas were observed to be free of rodents and/or vermin. Food was observed to be properly stored separate from cleaning materials. Hazardous items in kitchen are inaccessible to children by closing the kitchen door.
The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. The chain link fencing is at least four feet high. The total square footage for the preschool outdoor activity space measured to be 6441.65 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. And the toddler outdoor activity space measured to be 4899 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Shade is provided via sail shades, building, umbrella structure at the preschool playground and at the toddler playground there are sail shade and trees use as shade. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground for children ages 2 to 12 and 2 to 5 at the preschool playground and the play structures are properly anchored. There are adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by sand at the preschool playground. The toddler playground has turf with little tikes play structures. Director was advised to either remove the climbing structures or put soft cushioning under and around the structures to ensure children's safety. Drinking water is available via the children's own water bottles during outdoor activities. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Director was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
For childcare center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). And it shall be retested every 5 years from the date of the initial lead test.
