32 | Regarding the allegation that staff did not properly transport day care children, based on interviews conducted 4 out of 4 staff members and 2 out of 4 witnesses denied seeing Child #1 (C1) getting out of their car seat or falling to the floor of the van. Staff #1 (S1) stated some of the children unbuckle themselves and S1 will tell them to buckle back up. If the children don’t listen S1 will pull over and buckle them back into their seats. Staff interviews also revealed that Child #2 (C2) is placed in a booster seat while riding in the van and that other children are placed in either a booster seat or car seat depending on their age and weight.
Based on the information obtained during this investigation, it has been determined that although the allegations may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the alleged violations did or did not occur. Therefore, the allegations are UNSUBSTANTIATED.
An exit interview was conducted, and this report was reviewed with the Director, Jennifer Castaneda, and a copy was provided. Appeal rights were discussed and provided during the exit interview.
