25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor conducted an unannounced annual inspection for Morente Family Childcare (FCC) on November 5, 2025, at 8:45 AM. LPA met with Licensee’s (LIC) Elaine Morente who granted entry and authorized LPA to tour the FCC.
The facility operates Monday through Friday, Monday- Friday 7AM- 5PM serving children three months to five years old. Off-limit areas include the entire second story, attached garage and stair closet with child proof locks and gates making them inaccessible to children. The garage has a double bolt lock, and child safety latch with alarm, making the garage area inaccessible to children. Children primarily utilize the daycare room when you enter the home, den for napping and backyard. The facility is licensed as a large FCCH with a maximum capacity of fourteen (14) children and is operating within the capacity listed on the license. Eight daycare children were present during inspection, including three infants and one assistant. LPA observed infant daycare children transitioning up and down for naps, eating snacks, participating in a table side circle time and singing songs.
A working cell phone is available, and the current phone number on file is correct. A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed to be mounted in the daycare room. The carbon monoxide detector was tested and confirmed to be operational by LPA. LPA reminded licensee that all poisons and cleaning compounds deemed hazardous must be locked by a key. The license stated they understand that all off-limit areas are made inaccessible by child safety gates, doorknobs or lock and key, and must be operational during daycare hours.
A current roster was available for review during inspection. LPA confirmed the required postings, including the Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan, License and Notification of Parent’s Rights, are displayed in the daycare parent board. Fire and disaster drill documentation was available, documenting the last earthquake drill on 9/8/2025 and fire drill on 8/8/25.
