32 | LPA observed a total of 5 sinks and 4 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 30 children. There is a separate staff restroom equipped with a toilet and a sink. The isolation area for children who are ill will be the office located upstairs.
Facility will provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, am snack and pm snack. There are two small kitchens located in classroom A and classroom B. Classroom A kitchen has a sink, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, and microwave. Classroom B kitchen has a sink, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, and convection oven. The kitchen area and food storage areas were observed free of rodents and/or vermin. Food was observed to be properly stored separate from cleaning materials. Hazardous items in kitchen are inaccessible to children via locked cabinet.
The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing is chain link which is at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 2784.81, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. Shade is provided via two small wind sails and a tree on playground A and one large wind sail on playground B. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a small structure with a slide located on playground A that is for children ages 2-8. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by rubber cushioning material on playground A and playground B has rubber cushioning material and artificial turf. Drinking water is available via pitchers and disposable cups. LPA observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Applicant Guillermina Martinez Hernandez was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing.
