25 | On 06/12/24 at 10:10AM, LPA, Luigi Gargaro, conducted a case management visit today for a requested room change from the previous Lilac Kindergarten classroom (Room 2) to a never previously licensed classroom. The room name and number are to remain the same. The previously used classroom 2 is now a first grade classroom for the facility's elementary school program. The facility is not requesting a capacity increase to their existing license which has a capacity of 83 and serves children 2.9 years through kindergarten in classrooms 3, 4, 5 and 6.
This room change will now bring classroom 2, in its new location, back as an active facility classroom. The existing preschool classrooms are also alternatively known as Rosemary Kindergarten (Room 3), Periwinkle Kindergarten (Room 4), Sunflower Nursery (Room 5) and Sweet Pea Nursery (Room 6). Analyst met with Early Childhood Chair Elizabeth Heald and facility director Sheila Salmeron to conduct the new room measurement and inspection today.
Classroom two was inspected and measured today at 848.91 square feet which would allow for a maximum capacity of 24 children. The classroom has two toilets and two sinks. The facility has a total of nine toilets and nine sinks sufficient for a total of 135 children. The classroom was found to have age appropriate furnishings and equipment during today's inspection.
Classrooms 3, 4, 5 and 6 and the previous classroom two were measured and were approved for the school's current capacity of 83. The new room 2 Lilac Classroom has increased square footage to that of the previous 681.72 square foot Lilac Classroom allowing the licensed capacity to remain the same. A fire clearance for 83 children in classrooms 3, 4, 5, 6 and new classroom 2 was approved on 12/20/23 by the San Diego Fire Department.
Based on today's measurement and inspection, the room change to the new classroom 2 has been approved with the facility's capacity remaining at the previously approved 83. |
