On 8/12/2021 at 10:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analysts, Joelle Redding and Michael Morales-DeSilvestore, met with Assistant Director Beatriz Cornejo for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were 53 children present with 6 teachers and an Aide in 5 rooms as follows: Preschool classroom: 2 teachers with 17 children, Pre K classroom (#5): 1 teacher with 9 children, PreK classroom (#6): 1 teacher with 7 children, School Age class (#7): 1 teacher with 8 children and the 2's classroom (#9) 1 teacher and an Aide with 12 children. Facility is within ratio and capacity. Program operates Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

LPAs toured the facility. The furniture, books, games and toys are safe, age-appropriate and in good repair. Rooms were a comfortable temperature during this visit. No hazards were noted. All storage containers and trashes have tight fitting lids and are in good repair. There is a kitchen which is clean and sanitary with all food stored properly, per regulation. Menus are posted. Hand washing and toileting areas are in a safe, sanitary and operating condition. Medications are kept in the classrooms or in the office, depending on type, inaccessible to children. Poisons, disinfectants, cleaning solutions and other items that are dangerous to children are out of reach. There is no evidence of rodent or insect activity. Outdoor play areas (3) fully fenced with sufficient cushioning and adequate shade. Playground equipment and outdoor surfaces are in a safe condition No hazards were noted. Portable water is used outdoors. There are no bodies of water, firearms or ammunition on the property. The carbon monoxide detector is operational. LPA reviewed, sign in/out sheets (electronic), a sample of personnel records for a health screening and on-the-job training. A sample of children's records for emergency information and a medical assessment. Children are evaluated upon entry and monitored throughout the day for signs of illness. The isolation for ill children awaiting pick up is the Director's office. There is at least one staff present with current CPR and First Aid certification. SB 792 (staff immunizations) and AB 1207 (Mandated Reporter Training) requirements have been met. Facility is reminded the Mandated Reporter Training is to be retaken every two years and can be accessed at the following website: www.mandatedreporterca.com.

Covid-19 precautionary procedures and guidelines are in place. Staff and Children over the age of 2 years are wearing masks in the classroom, groups are staying stable and social distancing is encouraged.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Updated LIC 610 (Emergency Disaster Plan) was received today. An updated LIC 500, Parent Handbook and facility sketch was requested.

No deficiencies are cited.
