On 03/10/2025 at 11:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Michelle Hood arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced Annual/Random and follow-up inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by Reyna and Nancy Rodriguez. There were five children present in the facility. The off-limits areas are inaccessible through the use of safety gates and door locks. The operating hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.

The fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector met the requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment, and materials available. The licensee uses the facility front yard of outdoor play. The sliding gate is closed before the children go outside to play. The licensee and helper understand there must be direct supervision while the children are playing outside. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee and helper were reminded all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to the initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee and helper Nancy's First Aid and CPR certifications expired on 11/2026 and 01/2027. Nancy completed the Preventative Health on 01/26/2025. Mandated Reporter Training was conducted on 01/2025 for the licensee and helper Nancy. Nancy completed the family child care orientation. The facility roster is maintained and reviewed. LPA reviewed children’s files. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 01/29/2025.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the licensee and Nancy and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPA also informed both of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. The licensee and Nancy physically check on sleeping infants every 15 minutes and documents. An Individual Infant Sleeping Plan [LIC 9227 (3/20)] will be maintained for each infant up to 12 months of age and shall be available to the Department for review. Both understands infants up to 12 months of age must be placed on their backs for sleeping.

The licensee was reminded corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, jumpers, and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. LPA provided the California Megan's Law website: www.meganslaw.ca.gov.
