On September 19, 2023, at 09:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Courtnee Peebles arrived unannounced to THOMPSON, LESLIE FAMILY CHILD CARE (FCCH) and met with licensee, Leslie Thompson to discuss the investigative finding of the allegation listed above. On September 19, 2023 at 09:15 AM, LPA conducted a tour and census of the FCCH. During the investigation, LPA conducted confidential interviews with two staff (S1,S2) and one witness (W).

On August 28, 2023, a complaint was received with allegations stating, Provider not present 80% of the time, Provider does not keep facility free from bugs, and Facility is dirty. Confidential interviews revealed the licensee is present throughout the day during day care hours. Interviews and observation also revealed licensee does have animals that may attract regular bugs, however nothing harmful to children in care. Observation revealed licensee does attempt to maintain a clean environment for children in care with cleaning throughout the day during day care hours.

Based on confidential interviews conducted during the investigation the allegation that Provider not present 80% of the time, Provider does not keep facility free from bugs, and Facility is dirty, is not supported or proven by evidence. Therefore, the above allegations are unsubstantiated. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. A copy of this report and appeal rights were given and explained to Licensee Leslie Thompson.
