25 | On date and time listed, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelli Waters arrived at the facility to conduct an annual inspection as part of a compliance review. Present during inspection was Licensee Leslie Thompson and assistant Victoria Palacios and mother of Licensee. LPA toured the facility, inside and out, records were reviewed, and the following was observed and/or discussed:
• Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm
• Off-limit areas include: Garage, Downstairs bedrooms, bathroom 2, and entire second floor
• The facility is licensed to have no more than 14 children as a large FCCH and is operating within the licensed capacity and appropriate ratios. 2 staff and 6 children were present (3 were Licensee’s grandchildren on summer break)
• Appropriate supervision was being provided during this inspection
• A working telephone is present, and the current phone number is on file
• A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was not observed. Licensee stated that the previous one was empty and will get a new one. A smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector were present and tested by the Licensee during this inspection.
• Fireplace is properly screened to prevent access by children
• All hazardous items; knives specifically were not stored inaccessible to children
• Toxins are will be locked and are currently inaccessible to children in care.
• Weapons are not present/stored according to Title 22. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations
• Stairs are barricaded
• Clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys are provided
• Current roster on file; missing information
• Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan and Notification of Parent’s Rights poster are posted
• Documentation of fire and disaster drills are on file – Last drill was conducted on 10/16/23 |
