25 | On 6/8/2023, at 9:10am., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Norma Perez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. There were 11 daycare children (1 of whom is 18 months) present during the time of inspection. Also present Assistants Gabriela Lara and Antonio Perez. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 6:00am – 6:00 pm.
This 5 - bedroom, 2 bath, 2 two story home was inspected. The following areas used for childcare are all downstairs with the exception of the kitchen area: living room, family room, dining room, bedroom, daycare room, hallway bathroom and fenced backyard.. Off-limits areas include: entire upstairs (4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (inside of master bedroom), laundry room and garage. They are made inaccessible to daycare children by door knob covers and safety gates. The staircase is properly barricaded
The fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements. Disinfectants, cleaning compounds, detergents and other hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the time of inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee stated that there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. The last fire drill was conducted and documented on 5/17/2023.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
