25 | On January 3, 2024, at 1:58 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sherlynn Banas conducted an unannounced annual inspection with Hana Pasha (licensee). Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee and provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC126). The two storey home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Licensee stated she has 1 child enrolled in care. There are no children present. The fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector and smoke detector meet requirements and are operational. The fire extinguisher is by the kitchen area. The carbon monoxide and smoke alarm is located by the hallway by the bathroom. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children. Areas used for childcare include: 2 living rooms, kitchen, bathroom, dining room, and backyard. Off limits areas include all rooms upstairs, laundry room, and garage are inaccessible through use of doorknob covers and with a gate going upstairs. There is a working phone at the facility. The licensee has sufficient age appropriate, safe, toys and equipment available. Licensee owns the home.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on October 28, 2025. Licensee meets immunization requirements. Licensee declines the flu vaccine. Mandated reporter training was not taken before the initial license because licensee speaks Arabic. Children records were reviewed as well as the roster. Required documents are posted.
Provider is hereby reminded of the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care. All equipment that is used should be used only as intended by the manufacturer. LPA and Licensee discussed California Megan's Law and LPA provided: www.meganslaw.ca.gov. LPA Lane reviewed Covid-19 guidelines with Licensee and provided Covid-19 resources.
