25 | On March 5, 2025, at 2:10 p.m., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), D. Sanchez and R. Alexanian, conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with the Licensee, Maria Castaneda. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. No children were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a single story, three bedroom, two bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPAs inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway bathroom, bedroom located next to the hallway bathroom and backyard. Off limits areas are: Master bedroom, master bathroom, bedroom located next to the living room and garage and are inaccessible through use of door knob protection.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. Provider has a pile up boxes stored underneath a canopy that is accessible to the children. Provider stated that she is only caring for two children for a couple of hours a day and does not uses the backyard. LPA advised provider that due to having a large license and the secondary exit is thru the backyard, she needs to clear the clutter area. LPA informed licensee to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 12/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 02/2024. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 12/2024. |
