32 | Interviews with children also revealed some children have been spanked on the butt by LIC and AT while some of the same interviews revealed children are not spanked in the FCC. Interviews with parents revealed there were no concerns of LIC or AT spanking children or inappropriate discipline in the FCC. Additionally, interviews with parents revealed no children had mentioned being spanked or seeing any other children spanked in the FCC. Interviews with parents further revealed their children have not come home from the FCC with any concerning marks nor are children fearful of LIC, AT or attending the FCC. LIC and AT both denied hitting or spanking children as a form of discipline. LIC and AT did state they may occasionally pat the children on the butt or tap them on the hand to get their attention but not in a rough or aggressive manner.
Based on interviews conducted and conflicting statements, the allegation that license hit day care child may have occurred, however is not supported or proven by evidence. Therefore, the above allegation is unsubstantiated. A copy of this report, LIC 811 (Confidential Names List) and appeal rights were given and explained to Licensee Alejandra Lara-Ruiz.
