On October 26, 2022 at 9:25 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jessica Rubio arrived at the facility to conduct an annual inspection as part of a compliance review. LPA met with licensee Alejandra Lara-Ruiz. LPA toured the facility, inside and out, records were reviewed, and the following was observed and/or discussed:
· Normal days and hours of operation are: Monday through Friday 5:30 am to 5:30 pm.
· Off-limit areas include: Master bedroom, bedroom #2 and garage.
· The facility is operating within the licensed capacity and appropriate ratios. LPA observed seven children in care with licensee and an assistant providing care.
· Appropriate supervision provided during this inspection
· A working telephone is present and the current number is on file
· Appropriate fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector present and were tested by the Licensee during this inspection.
· Fireplace is properly screened to prevent access by children
· All hazardous items were not stored inaccessible to children. LPA observed several accessible toiletries labeled "Keep Out of Reach of Children" in the bathroom. Sharp knives were stored on the counter in the kitchen and potentially accessible to older/taller children. Licensee immediately moved the knives above the refrigerator. A citation will be issued.
· Weapons are not present as stated by Licensee. Licensee understands all guns, weapons and ammunition must be key locked separately and made inaccessible per Title 22 Regulations
· Clean, safe and age-appropriate toys
