On 8/9/22 at 12:00 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Annette Sutherland conducted an unannounced annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee Maha Esshaki. Licensee was provided the Inspection Checklist (LIC 126). The 2-story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present in the home were 3-day care children. The facility is within ratio and capacity.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include Day Care Room, Kitchen, Nook, Family room, Bathroom #1 and Backyard. The Living Room and Dining Room area near the front door are used for napping only and are gated when children are not napping. Staircase is properly barricaded. Off limits areas include entire upstairs and Laundry room which are inaccessible through use of Safety Gates. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. LPA conducted childcare quality management interview with the Licensee.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There is a body of water on the property and it is properly fenced with self-latching gate requirements as required by CCL regulations. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home (or weapons in the home are locked and out of reach of children). First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 7/15/24. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee has not completed Mandated Reporter Training. Children’s records were reviewed and were found to be in order.
