25 | On 03/08/2023 at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Miller conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the licensee Martha Meraz. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The licensee, staff and three (3) daycare children (a 9-month old, and two 23-month old infants) were present in the facility during this inspection.
This two story, 5 bedrooms, 3-bathroom home was inspected. The following areas are used for day-care: kitchen, family room, living room, dining room, bathroom 1, and backyard. Off limits areas include: garage, bedroom 1, bar, and complete upstairs (4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms). They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door locks, and safety gates. Home has safety gates blocking the bottom and top of the stairs. No bodies of water were observed during time of inspection.
The fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play outside in the fenced backyard. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home and LPA did not observe any firearms at the time of this inspection.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in 03/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed the mandated reporter training on 06/17/2021. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drill was conducted and documented on 02/09/2023. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
