25 | On 03/01/2024 at 1:50 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Sherlynn Banas conducted an unannounced random inspection with Ashley Nguyen (Licensee). She has 7 children in her care and is in ratio. The home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. The home has a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector that meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There is a pool and maintained even if it is not in use. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications are valid through July 2024. Licensee completed the online mandated child abuse training on February 19, 2024, and it must be renewed every two years. Children’s records were reviewed. Facility has an updated roster and fire drill log available for review. Licensee last conducted a drill with the children in care on October 2023. A copy of the facility roster was obtained during today’s inspection.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include living room, dining room, and bathroom. Off limit areas is the dining area and all upstairs room. The upstairs was barricaded by a gate. The facility has sufficient toys and equipment available. Licensee brings the children outside at the backyard. She was reminded that supervision is required when children are outside.
