25 | On July 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Margarita & Antonio Lopez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. No daycare children and no staff members present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. Licensee requested to have bedroom #2 as off limits and submitted the request in writing and provided an updated facility sketch. The following areas used for child care are: Bedrooms #1, #3, bathroom, dining room, living room, kitchen, and backyard. Off limits areas are; bedroom #2 and the shed on the right side of home and is made inaccessible to children by the use of a door latch and a door knob cover. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certification expires on 9/2024 and Co-Licensee 12/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 2/28/22 and Co-Licensee on 3/6/22. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 2/10/23. |
