25 | On February 14, 2023 at 8:30 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Bertha Murillo. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five (5) daycare children and no staff members were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: 1st living room, dining room, kitchen, 2nd living room, bathroom #1, and backyard. Off limits areas are master bedroom, bedroom #2, #3, bathroom #2, and garage and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers and door locks. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday from 6:00 am-6:00 pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. LPA observed a water fountain filled with water in the front yard and on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions, remove if none. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certification expires on 3/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee has not completed Mandated Reporter Training and states she was not aware of this training. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 1/24/23. |
