25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing Inspection. LPA was greeted at the front door by Licensee, Viridiana Villalpando. LPA was granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of her visit. Licensee is using the following areas for daycare: Living room, Dining room, bedrooms 1-4, Bathroom 1, Laundry/changing room, and Carport. The following areas are off-limits to children: Bedroom 5 and front yard. These areas are inaccessible to children by locked doors and baby safety gates. The licensee is present in the home and ensures that children in care are supervised at all times. The children are provided a safe, healthful, and comfortable environment, furnishings, and equipment. Business Hours are Monday- Friday, 7:30am-6:00pm. The facility currently has 8 children in care.
LPA tested the smoke alarm and the carbon monoxide detector located in the hallway area and they are both functional. There is a fire extinguisher in the Kitchen that meets regulations. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated there are no weapons or ammunition stored on the premises and LPA did not observe any.
There is no fireplace in the home or open wall heaters. Storage for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications are out of reach in off limit areas and inaccessible to children. However, there is a paint bucket and garden tools in the outdoor play area that are accessible to children. Licensee provides outdoor play in the backyard with age-appropriate play equipment and toys. Licensee could not provide a fire/disaster drill log or a roster. The home is kept clean and orderly with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. |
