25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Saraliz Velando conducted an unannounced Annual Licensing Inspection. LPA was greeted by licensee, Monica Meddings and her two helpers, Genesis Padron Medina and Veronica Sanchez. LPA observed the children playing in the outside play area. LPA was granted entry after identifying herself and disclosing the purpose of the visit. There were 8 children in care.
Licensee has adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include the following areas: living room, dining room, hallway bathroom, enclosed patio, and enclosed front porch. The fireplace located in the living room has a glass door that makes it inaccessible to children. Off limit areas include all bedrooms, kitchen, laundry room, garage, 2nd bathroom, car port, and upper level of the backyard. Off limits areas have been made inaccessible with the use of safety gates and/or door knob covers. There are no weapons stored in the home or on the property and there are no bodies of water present. The fire extinguisher meets regulations and is located in the living room area. The smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector combo is functional and located in the dining room area. The home is clean, orderly and has adequate ventilation and heating. Storage for poisons, detergents, cleaning solutions, medications are inaccessible by safety latches or out of reach. Licensee’s last fire drill was conducted on 1/24/24.
Pediatric CPR and First Aid card for provider expires September 2025 Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires March 2025. There is a working telephone and email address. |
