25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) William Chancellor conducted an unannounced annual inspection for Sauceda, Maria Family Childcare (FCCH) on April 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM. LPA was greeted by Licensee Maria Sauceda and was granted entry to the FCCH. LPA stated the purpose of today’s visit and LIC provided a tour of the home. Upon arrival, two assistants were present with eight daycare children, including two infants. LPA verified that thirteen children are currently enrolled, including both full and part time enrollment.
The facility operates Monday through Friday from 7AM- 5PM, servicing infants 0-10 years old. Certain areas listed as off-limits include the attached garage, loft, entire second story and second patio. Facility is licensed as a large FCCH with a maximum capacity of fourteen (14) children and is operating within the capacity listed on the license. During the inspection, LPA observed children waking up from nap, having a afternoon snack on the covered patio, playing with their peers in different centers and intermittently being picked up at staggered times.
A working cell phone is available, and the current phone number on file is correct. A fully charged fire extinguisher (2A:10BC) was observed, along with a functioning smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, both of which were tested by the Licensee. The fireplace is properly screened to prevent access by children, and all hazardous items, including toxins, are stored securely and are inaccessible to children. No weapons are present, and the Licensee, Maria Sauceda stated they understands that all firearms, weapons, and ammunition must be locked separately and made inaccessible as per Title 22 Regulations. Stairs are barricaded with a baby gate when children are in care.
The facility provides clean, safe, and age-appropriate toys for children. A current roster is on file, and required postings, including the Facility Sketch, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Notification of Parent’s Rights, are displayed. Fire and disaster drill documentation is maintained, with the last drill conducted on March 11, 2026.
