25 | On October 28, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Dymphna Jennings. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five (5) daycare children and One (1) staff and Licensee were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a 2 story, 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas Licensed to be used for child care are: Living room, family room, dining room, 1/2 bathroom, bonus room, backyard. Off limits areas are All of upstairs (3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms), full bathroom downstairs, kitchen, laundry room and are inaccessible through use of safety gates. Hours of operation are: Saturday -Sunday from 12:00am-11:59pm.
Licensee is currently using converted garage for daycare space that has not been approved for daycare use. Licensee states she did not know she had to report to Licensing. Licensee will send in documents for alterations of daycare areas.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. The upstairs is not used and is gated off at the bottom of the stairway and the applicant understands the gate must be in place when children under five years are present during day care hours. Licensee has an inground pool that is surrounded by a pool safety fence, with self-latching, self-closing gate that swings away from the pool and meets Title 22 requirements. Licensee has a waterfall that is not in use. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home at the time of inspection. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
