25 | On February 27, 2023, at 12:45 pm., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with the Licensee, Carla Durazo. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Ten (10) daycare children, (4 infants and 6 toddlers) and One (2) assistants were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: parlor, kitchen, dining room, grand hall, bathroom #3, and backyard. Off limits areas are master bedroom, bedrooms #2, #3, #4 (separate studio), master bathroom, bathrooms #2, #4, den, and garage, and are inaccessible through use of safety gates and door locks. Licensee states that the backyard is not in use at this time due to gardener is not available and needs to hire a new one. LPA observed backyard to be in good condition. Licensee states she will provide full supervision while children play in the front yard patio. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday from 8:00 am-3:30 pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard not available for outdoor activities time of inspection. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
