32 | P2 Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are stored in a locked cabinet and made inaccessible to children by way of cabinet latches/locks and/or placed on high surfaces. Licensee utilizes the fully fenced front yard for outdoor activities. Licensee stated she provides direct supervision at all times when children are conducting any outside activities.
Licensee has an ample amount of children's toys, age appropriate play equipment, Play structures, books, and non-toxic child safe arts & crafts materials available. The Licensee has a working cell phone. Licensee stated there are no firearms, other weapons, or ammunition in the home.
Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. LPA reviewed children’s files. Children’s files reviewed were complete and met regulations. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee's Mandated Reporter AB1207 training expires 07/11/2026. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 07/2026. The last disaster and fire drills were conducted and documented on 12/06/2025 and 01/05/26 respectively. Because the licensee rents the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC 9151) that the applicant confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The licensee obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149).
