25 | On June 5th, 2023 at 7:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee Esther Aguilar. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. Irene Hernandez, a relative, provided Spanish language translation. The Licensee, the relative and four (4) children were present upon LPA's arrival, but one child left to attend school. During the inspection, two (2) new children arrived. This facility is a three (3) bedroom, one (1) bathroom house. Licensee and helper accompanied LPA during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: living room, dining room, bathroom and one(1) bedroom. The off limit areas are the remaining bedrooms, which have door locks. Cabinet locks are on kitchen cabinets.
The fire extinguisher and combined carbon monoxide/smoke detector meets requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The Licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play in the fenced and shaded front yard. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expires in May 2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 11/15/2021. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted and documented on 05/13/2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
