25 | On 7/3/2023, at 9:00am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Daniela Huerta conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with Licensee, Maria Camarena. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was led on a tour of the facility indoors and outdoors. This facility is a one story, three-bedroom, one-bathroom house. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and backyard. Off limits areas include: garage, bedroom #1-3 and front yard which are made inaccessible through the use baby gates, locks and doorknob covers.
Hours of operation hours are Monday – Friday 6:00am to 6:00pm. There were three (3) children present during the inspection, one (1) toddler and (2) school-age.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were accessible to children in care. LPA observed one bottle of cleaning product in the bathroom counter that Licensee stated contained Clorox diluted with water. Licensee stated she was in the process of cleaning the bathroom's toilet when LPA arrived to conduct inspection. LPA was able to smell Clorox in the bathroom during the bathroom inspection. Licensee was reminded to remove and secure all disinfectants and cleaning compounds after each use. Licensee immediately removed the Clorox bottle. See LIC809-D. LPA reminded licensee poisons shall be placed in a storage area and locked. The storage area for poisons is locked. LPA observed toys and materials available for children’s use. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. LPA informed licensee to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities. There is no fireplace on the premises. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no firearms, other weapons or ammunition in the home.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. |
