25 | On March 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), D. Sanchez, conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with the Licensee, Juliana Arias. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Three (3) children and one (1) staff were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a two story, four bedroom, two bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom located next to the kitchen, hallway bathroom and backyard. Off limits areas are: Master bedroom, master bathroom, the other two bedrooms and garage and are inaccessible through use of door knob protection.
It is to be noted that facility address has been going through construction since 03/2023. Provider is adding two bedrooms with two bathrooms on the facility second floor. The stairs to the second floor are located in the dining room area and has been properly barricaded with a baby gate. Another construction going on at the facility is located behind the garage, where they are adding a two bedroom apartment that subsequently have its own address and entrance. Construction areas are off limits and secured with a six foot fence.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. LPA informed licensee to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 03/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 5/2023. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 03/2025. |
