25 | On February 13, 2025, at 8:30 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), D. Sanchez, conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with the Licensee, Josue Lovera. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five (5) children two staff and licensee were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a single story, three bedroom, 2 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: all three bedrooms, bathroom located in the family room, living room dining room, kitchen, family room and backyard. Off limits areas are: Hallway bathroom, garage and side yard and are inaccessible through use of door knob protection and gate.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. Backyard has a playground structure that has been properly secured to the ground. LPA informed licensee to ensure children are supervised at all times during outdoor activities. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Staff 1 has been working at this facility for three weeks and is not associated to the facility. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expired in the year 2023. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 03/23/2023. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 12/2024. |
