25 | On 11/19/24 at 1:40 pm Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gerald Poindexter conducted an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with licensee Terrence Liu. Also, in the home was the licensee’s assistant Cyanne De La Cruz. Present in the home were 11 day care children. Licensee states that all are above 24 months old. Licensee states they typically arrive starting at 8:30 am. The licensee was provided with the Inspection Checklist (LIC 126). The 3-bedroom, 2-bath, two-story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children.
The licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for child care include living room, dining room, bedroom and bathroom located downstairs. The bedroom is the isolation area for sick children. Off limits areas include laundry area, kitchen, upstairs and detached garage. Licensee placed the safety gate at the bottom of the stairs during today's inspection and a safety gate is installed to prevent access to the kitchen. The facility has sufficient toys and equipment available.
The home does not have a back yard. Licensee takes the children to the playground located directly next to the home within the complex. LPA reminded licensee that visual supervision is required at all times when children are playing at the playground, as the playground doesn't have an enclosed fence. No bodies of water were observed during time of inspection.
There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector that meet requirements and are operational. There is a fireplace in and helphelper the living room that is barricaded and inaccessible to children. Poisons, cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Adequate central heating and air are provided and vents located near the ceiling. There is a working telephone and email address. Licensee stated there are NO firearms and weapons in the home.
