25 | On 11/25/2024 at 9:50 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stefanie Mutialu and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Joelle Redding conducted an unannounced inspection with the License, Francine Mikele. LPA identified self, disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Present in the home were the Licensee, licensee’s 14 year old so, licensee's 9 year old nephew and 2 day care children. The one-story, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection.
The fire extinguisher located in the kitchen, smoke detector located in the hallway, meet requirements and are operational. Carbon monoxide and Fire pull system are not in place or present. CCLD will request a new fire clearance, All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There is not a body of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Ants located in bedroom 2 due to food droppings on the floor. LPA advised licensee to ensure all areas are clean and free of food droppings. Areas used for child care include living room, bedroom 2, kitchen, and bathroom 1. Off limits areas include bedroom 1, bedroom 3, bathroom 2, backyard, and front yard and all areas with the exception of bedroom 1 were inaccessible to children through the use of children proof door knob covers. Bedroom 1 was accessible during today's visit. LPA inspected Bedroom 1 and did not find any safety hazards. Licensee secured the room with a door knob cover during the visit. Licensee was using the garage as supplemental play space without prior approval of Licensing. LPA determined that the stacked boxes were a potential hazard and the space will remain off limits until the debris is cleared. Licensee made the space inaccessible with a safety gate today. The licensee has sufficient toys and equipment available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities and licensee will use side of backyard for outdoor activities when all hazardous items and debris are removed and space is made safe for children. Licensee will send photo to CCLD for approval prior to use. Licensee currently uses local park for outdoor activities with direct supervision at all times. |
