25 | On 5/8/24 at 12:15 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Renita Rodriguez conducted an unannounced annual inspection with the Licensee. Upon arrival, LPA identified herself. LPA met with Licensee, Ma De Lourdes. The 1 story home was toured and inspected to ensure an environment safe for the care and supervision of children. Present in the home was licensee and 1 enrolled minor child. Licensee has 19 children enrolled.
Licensee has provided adequate space for the children to eat, sleep and play within the home. Areas used for childcare include: living room, big dining room, small eating room, kitchen, children’s bathroom and children’s room. Off limits areas include: bedroom #2, bedroom #3 which includes another small bathroom, laundry room and small storage/water heater and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers, locks and safety gates. The fire-place is barricaded and inaccessible. There is a working phone at the facility. The licensee has sufficient toys and play equipment available. LPA inspected the area and found no hazards. LPA reviewed children and staff files and found all to be complete and in order.
The fire extinguisher (2A10BC) smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements and are operational. All hazardous items were latched/locked and secured out of reach of children. There are no bodies of water on the property. Licensee states that there are no weapons in the home. First Aid and CPR certifications expire 5/24/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training 6/4/2022 and is reminded it must be completed every 2 years.
Licensee is hereby reminded of the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms; corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers are not allowed in day care. All equipment that is used should be used only as intended by the manufacturer.
