25 | On 02/28/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Dana Stevens conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection. Upon arrival, LPA was greeted by Licensee Doraly Quinonez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. There were 12 day-care children present at the time of the inspection ages 2-4.5 years. Licensee stated she does currently enroll children under 24 months old. Licensee accompanied LPA throughout the inspection of this 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home (including 1 bdrm converted garage located in backyard). The following areas are used for child care: the daycare room, living room, kitchen, dining area and one bathroom. Off Limit areas include: one bedroom, and converted garage. These areas are made inaccessible with door locks. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 07:30 AM - 05:30 PM. The backyard is used for outdoor play and is fully fenced. Licensee states total supervision is provided during outdoor play.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. There are no bodies of water observed at the time of this inspection. A review of records on this date indicates that all individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee's CPR/First Aid certifications are current and expire 07/2026. Licensee's assistant's CPR/First Aid certifications are current and expire 10/2026. Licensee's assistant completed Mandated Reporter Training 10/2024. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter training in 10/2024. Licensee was reminded that Mandated Reporter training needs to be renewed every 2 years by all persons that provide care for children. Staff files were reviewed and found to be complete. A sample of children's files were reviewed and found complete.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. |
