25 | On February 2, at 9:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced case management inspection for the purpose of a capacity increase and met with the Licensee, Yrma Meza. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The fire clearance for 14 children was granted/received on 12/1/22. Four (4) daycare children no staff were present in the facility during this inspection. Licensee and assistant meet immunizations requirements. This facility is a 2 story, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: Living room, dining room, bathroom #1, and front yard. Off limits areas are bedroom #1, bathroom #2, all of upstairs (bedrooms #2 and #3, and bathroom #3), and garage/basement and are inaccessible through use of safety gates.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced front available for outdoor activities.LPA did not observe any bodies of water at the time of this inspection. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 10/3/23. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 11/9/21. 4 of 4 children’s records were reviewed and contain immunization documentation and Notification of Parent’s Rights form.
LPA provided and discussed the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. Licensee was also provided handouts with information regarding upcoming Safe Sleep Regulations/SIDS, Lead exposure and Shaken Baby Syndrome.
