25 | On 6/14/2023, at 10:00 am., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required Inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with Assistant Maria Ramirez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the assistant. There were 4 daycare children (one of whom is 1 years of age) present during the time of inspection. At 10:20am, Licensee, Alma Contreras arrived at the facility and assistant Soledad Barrera arrived at the facility at 10:35am. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Sunday, 23 hours per day.
This is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath two story detached home. The following areas are used for childcare: kitchen, breakfast nook, dining room, living room, family room, downstairs hall bathroom, and large fully fenced back. Off-limits areas include entire upstairs ( four (4) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms), additional off limit areas are the garage and fenced storage areas. They are made inaccessible to daycare children by safety gates, safety latches, locks and doorknob covers.
The fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the time of inspection. The stairs are properly barricaded. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee stated that there are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. The last fire/disaster drill was conducted and documented on 1/13/2023
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
