25 | On 06/01/22, at 3:26 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Rajani Goudreau conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and met with the Licensee, Tranisha Burton. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five children and one staff member was present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, three - bedroom, two- bathroom house. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, dining room, kitchen, daycare room, and backyard. The following off-limit areas are made securely inaccessible: bedrooms #1, #2, #3, bathroom located in the master bedroom. Operation hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements, per LPA observation. LPA observed hazardous items inaccessible to children in care. LPA informed licensee poisons shall be placed in a storage area and locked. LPA observed toys, play equipment and materials available for the children’s use. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. LPA informed licensee children shall be supervised during outdoor activities. LPA did not observe any bodies of water on the premises during the inspection. In addition, licensee confirmed there are no bodies of water on the premises of the property. Fireplace located in the living is securely screened. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications are valid and expire on February 2023. |
